Michael Pell
Michael Pell

President / Chief Executive Officer

Mike graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and brings more than 30 years of banking experience to his role. Mike joined First State Bank in 2006 and is the President and CEO. Prior to First State Bank, Mike acted as a Vice President at Fifth Third Bank for more than two decades.

He is very involved in the local community and currently serves on several Boards including: First State Bancorp, FHLB Cincinnati, & Leadership Adams.  He was prior Chairman of the Ohio Bankers League (2018) , & Southern State Community College (2017).  Additionally, he serves as Elder at the Winchester Church of Christ in Christian Union. In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and five children, golfing, hunting, fishing and serving with his church.

David Richey
David Richey

Executive Vice President / Chief Financial Officer

After earning a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Shawnee State University in 2002, David became a Certified Public Accountant in 2004. Starting his career at First State Bank as an internal auditor, two years later he moved into the role of CFO.

David is currently responsible for the accounting and finance functions of the bank including financial reporting, asset liability management, and budget and financial planning. Additionally, he oversees the bank's investment portfolio. In 2014, he was appointed to serve on the First State Bank Board of Directors. David currently serves on several local boards and is an active member of his church. Married with three children, he also enjoys helping with youth sports in his spare time.

Chad Wilson
Chad Wilson

Executive Vice President / Senior Lender

A graduate from the University of Cincinnati with a BBA in Finance, Chad has more than fifteen years of banking industry experience. Chad joined First State Bank in 2008 and has held multiple leadership positions in both Retail and Commercial Banking. Chad graduated from the Graduate School of Banking, and in addition received his Executive Leadership Certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2018. Chad was named as First State Bank’s Senior Lender in 2020 and Executive Vice President in 2023. In his free time, Chad enjoys spending time with his family, anything sports related and being active in his church.

 

Bradley Jones
Bradley Jones

Vice President / Credit Manager

Bradley is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree and a major in accounting. He brings more than 20 years of banking experience to First State Bank. In 2015, Jones graduated from the Bank Leadership Institute at the Ohio Bankers League. An employee since 2006, Bradley manages the credit department and in 2015 he was named Assistant Vice President. In his spare time, Bradley enjoys coaching soccer and basketball and being an active member of his church.

Daniel Ferguson
Daniel Ferguson

Vice President / Chief Information Officer

A native of Adams county, Dan brings more than 15 years of IT experience to his role. Over the years, he has worked in different sectors ranging from hospitality, to health care, to finance. He joined the First State Bank team in 2006 and has served as IT Manager, Assistant Vice President, and is currently serving as Chief Information Officer/Vice President. In his role he oversees the IT, Deposit Operations, and Card departments as well as sets objectives and strategies to ensure we are operating at maximum efficiency, and monitor changes and advancements in technology in the ever changing cyber world.

Throughout his career, he has facilitated numerous customer service and leadership initiatives and managed networks and telecommunication systems ranging in size and geographic location. In addition to the many years of experience, Dan holds a degree and multiple certifications related to Information Technology.

In his free time, Dan enjoys spending time outdoors with his kids, target shooting and hunting. He is also an avid sports fan, enjoying both football and ice hockey.

Ellie Zint
Ellie Zint

Vice President / Retail and Marketing

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Ellie brings more than 20 years of advertising and marketing experience to her role. She attended Loyola University Chicago Graduate School of Business and graduated with a MBA in Marketing. Over the years, she has provided advertising and marketing services to a variety of corporate clients. In 2013, Ellie joined the First State Bank team as Marketing Manager and is responsible for marketing, advertising and public relations. In 2018, she was named Marketing/Retail Banking Manager and is responsible for all retail operations. In 2020, she was named Vice President. Ellie graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin in 2022.

A resident of Highland County, Ellie currently serves on local boards and in her free time, enjoys coaching cheerleading and watching her two children play sports.

Vice President / Retail Lending Manager

A graduate of Shawnee State University, Judd currently sits on the OVRDC Loan Review Committee. He also is a graduate of the OBL Bank Leadership Institute. In his free time, Judd enjoys coaching baseball and basketball and spending time with his wife and two children.

Tim Grooms
Tim Grooms

Vice President / Chief Risk Officer

Tim attended Northern Kentucky University, earning a Bachelor's of Organizational Studies with a concentration in Industrial Labor Relations and an Associate of Applied Science. Tim began his banking career in 2002, is a Certified Community Bank Internal Auditor (CCBIA) and has held positions as Controller, Compliance Officer, BSA/OFAC Officer, CRA Officer, Internal Auditor, Office Manager, Loan Clerk, and Teller.

As Chief Risk Officer, Tim is responsible for ensuring the Bank maintains an adequate and effective Enterprise Risk Management program.

Tim participates in several community groups and enjoys spending time with his family.

Tom Kizer
Tom Kizer

Vice President / Mortgage Operations / Indirect Manager

A graduate from Shawnee State University, Tom brings more than 20 years of financial industry experience to his position. He began his career in retail banking and then later moved into consumer lending. While in consumer lending, he managed a total of 320 professionals and was responsible for the underwriting and processing of requests from 3,500 branches which included auto, home equity and mortgage loans. In 2014, Tom was named the Indirect/Consumer Banking Manager and 2018 he was named Mortgage/Operations/Indirect Manager. In 2023, he was named Vice President. In his free time, Tom enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, cycling, hiking and golf, and taking an annual family vacation to Disney World in Florida.

Shalana Shreffler
Shalana Shreffler

Vice President / Human Resources Manager

A native of Naples, Florida, Shalana graduated from Barron Collier High School and went on to attend Southern State Community College. Shalana joined the First State Bank team in 2008 as a Customer Service Representative in Mt. Orab. In 2010, she was transferred to the Winchester location and two years later she was promoted to Office Manager. In 2014, she was named Executive Assistant to CEO Mike Pell and CFO David Richey. In 2015, she was appointed to serve the Board of Directors and shareholders in an administrative capacity. In 2017, she was named the Human Resources Manager. Shalana is a 2016 graduate of the Leadership Adams program and 2018 graduate of the Ohio Banker’s League Bank Leadership Institute. Shalana was appointed Secretary of First State Bank by the Board of Directors in March 2019. In April 2019, Shalana graduated the Graduate School of Banking Human Resources. In 2023, she was named Vice President. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, husband, and her dogs, and spending as much time as possible outside in the summertime.

Assistant Vice President / Controller

A lifelong resident of Adams County, Becky is a graduate of Peebles High School and Shawnee State University. While at Shawnee, she earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration and an Associate Degree in Accounting. Becky joined the First State Bank team in 2014 and brings more than 22 years of healthcare finance experience to her role as Controller. Her responsibilities include overseeing the accounting functions of the bank. Becky is a 2019 graduate of the Leadership Adams program. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children, family and friends, traveling and being outdoors.

Betsy Hesler
Betsy Hesler

Internal Auditor

A lifelong resident of Adams County, Betsy grew up in Seaman and currently lives in West Union. She graduated from North Adams High School and went on to earn Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati. Betsy became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 2006. In 2018, Betsy joined the First State Bank team as Internal Auditor and she brings 14 years of tax and accounting to her role. She is an active member of her church and helps out as an assistant coach for her kids’ soccer teams.  Betsy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching her boys play sports and participate in 4-H. In her free time, Betsy and her family raise market lambs on their family farm.

Chester Gregory

Officer / Information Technology Manager

Chet, a native of Hillsboro, brings over 20 years of experience in the information technology industry. He is a graduate of Hillsboro High School and went on to continue his education at Morehead State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Throughout his professional career, Chet has worked in various sectors ranging from health care to manufacturing. He joined the First State Bank team in January of 2021 as Information Technology Manager.

In his free time, Chet enjoys spending time and traveling to the beach with his wife and family. He is an avid sports fan who enjoys taking on the role of an OHSAA/KHSAA official in Volleyball, Soccer, Football, Basketball, and Softball.

Debra Donovan
Debra Donovan

Officer / Card Program Manager

A graduate of Princeton High School, Debra began her banking career in 2005 and joined the First State Bank team in 2008. Debra started as a customer service representative and later moved into internal audit position, as she is a Certified Community Bank Internal Auditor (CCBIA). In 2013, Debra was named branch coordinator/sales ambassador for First State Bank. In 2016, she was named Card Program Manager and will oversee all activity associated with banking cards. In her free time, she enjoys working in her herb garden, reading, cooking and spending time with her husband and family.

Lauren Hamilton
Lauren Hamilton

Marketing Manager

A native of Highland County, Lauren currently resides in Hillsboro. She attended Southern State were she earned an associates degree in Office Information Technology. In 2018, she joined the team at First State Bank working as a Marketing Coordinator. In 2021, she was promoted to Marketing Supervisor and in 2022 promoted to Marketing Manager. In this role, is responsible for all marketing, advertising and public relations activities of the bank.

Lauren is active in the community, serves on local boards and volunteers her time to work with youth involved in agriculture. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, running their livestock operation, traveling and boating.

Pam Shreffler
Pam Shreffler

Assistant Vice President / Deposit Operations Manager

After graduating from North Adams High School, Pam went on to earn an Associate's degree from Southern State Community College. Pam also attended banking school in Athens, Ohio and is an AAP Accredited ACH Professional.

Pam has worked for First State Bank for more than thirty years. In her free time, Pam serves as a 4H advisor and is an active member of the Seaman United Presbyterian Church. She also enjoys gardening, reading, the great outdoors and spending time with her family.

Rachel Barr
Rachel Barr

Officer / Compliance Manager

After graduating from Georgetown High School, Rachel went on to obtain her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Xavier University. Rachel has worked in many different capacities of banking; including retail banking, consumer loan servicing and regulatory compliance. She joined the First State Bank team in 2017 and in 2018 was named Compliance Manager. In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling, attending sporting events and concerts.

Roselee Caraway
Roselee Caraway

Officer / Corporate Training Coordinator

A lifelong resident of West Union, Ohio, Roselee currently resides in Franklin Furnace, Ohio. Roselee graduated from West Union High School and went on to obtain her Associates from Southern State Community College. She graduated with her Bachelors in Business Administration in May of 2019 from American Public University. Roselee joined the FSB team in 2016 as a Full-time Customer Service Representative, bringing years of customer service experience to her role. In 2018, she was named Banking Center Coordinator and in 2019, she was named Corporate Training Coordinator where she will be responsible for delivering all training to front-line staff while also acting as a liaison between employees and all departments through the organization. In her free time, Roselee enjoys spending time with her husband Travis and their two Great Danes, watching Duke NCAA basketball, and traveling.

Ryan Brewer
Ryan Brewer

Assistant Vice President / Financial Analyst

A graduate of West Union High School, Ryan attended Shawnee State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. In 2019, Ryan became a Certified Public Accountant. Ryan started his career in banking with First State Bank in 2010 and has held positions as CSR, Management Trainee, Internal Auditor, Financial Analyst and in 2022 was promoted to Finance Manager.

As Finance Manager, Ryan is responsible for a number of accounting and finance functions at the bank. Married with three children, he also enjoys spending time helping with youth sports.

Adam Poole
Adam Poole

Assistant Vice President / Loan Operations Manager / Property Management

After graduating from Manchester High School, Adam earned a BA in Business Economics from the University of Cincinnati. After spending some time in the real estate market, Adam joined First State Bank in 2003. He currently acts as the Manager for Loan Operations at the bank. Starting in 2018, he will also head up Property Management for the bank. In his free time, Adam enjoys golfing, hunting, coaching his son's baseball and basketball teams, spending time with family, attending sporting events and traveling.

Dee Fitzpatrick
Dee Fitzpatrick

Assistant Vice President / Commercial Relationship Manager

Dee is a graduate of Manchester High School then went on to attended Southern State Community College. She joined the First State Bank team originally in 2002. Over the years, Dee has worked as a customer service representative, office manager, banking center manager and loan officer. She served as the West Union Banking Center Manager for four years. In 2016, she was named Commercial Relationship Manager, where she is responsible for managing commercial loan relationships and improving organizational procedures. Dee is 2015 Leadership Adams alumni. In her free time, Dee enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, hiking, gardening and most other outdoor activities.

Jeff Ratliff

Assistant Vice President / Residential Mortgage Banking Manager

A lifelong resident of Brown County, Jeff attended Morehead State and brings more than 30 years of banking experience to his position. In his role, he will oversee all residential mortgage banking for the bank. Jeff  serves as a Board Member for the Brown County MRDD Housing Alternatives and the Local Southern Ohio Ag and Community Development Foundation. He is also the President of the Adams/Brown Sportsman Club through the Quail Forever Organization. In his free time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, farming and hunting.

Leslie Downing-Jones
Leslie Downing-Jones

Officer / Indirect Lending Manager / Mortgage Underwriter

A graduate of North Adams High School and Southern State Community College, Leslie joined First State Bank in 1994. Over the years, she has gained experience as a teller, office manager and banking center manager. She has worked as a loan officer for 15 years and enjoys working on all types of loans including car, personal and commercial loans and mortgages. Leslie is an active supporter of local charitable causes and enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, antique shopping, walking and working out.

Corey Richmond
Corey Richmond

Assistant Vice President / Commercial Lending Manager

A graduate of West Union High School, Corey attended Northern Kentucky University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Business with a minor in Business Administration. Corey joined First State Bank in 2015 and began his career in the management trainee program. He then transitioned into the Indirect Lending department as an indirect lender. In 2018 he joined the Business Development team, where he focused on both Kentucky and Ohio markets. In 2023, he was named Commercial Lending Manager. In his free time Corey enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, golfing, hunting, and keeping up with his favorite sports teams.   

Greg Woods
Greg Woods

Officer / Business Development

Greg is a lifelong resident of Ross County. He graduated from Huntington High School and went on to attend Southern State Community College. He brings over 20 years of banking experience to his role. He joined the First State Bank team in 2021 and as a Business Development Officer. In his role, he will focus on commercial lending in Ross County and the surrounding area. 

Greg has served on several local boards and is currently the chairperson of Big Brothers / Big Sisters of South-Central Ohio, a member of First Wesleyan Church, and served as a high school basketball official for nearly two decades. He is also involved with Junior Achievement. Greg’s hobbies include spending time with his wife, Laurie and two sons, Trevor and Corey and dog, Abigail. He also enjoys golf and other sports-related activities.

Joe Martin
Joe Martin

Officer / Business Development

A graduate of Ironton Saint Joseph High School, Joe went on to attend Ohio University, as well as Marshall University for AIB classes. Joe resides in Ironton, Ohio and brings more than 35 years of experience to his role as Business Development Officer for First State Bank. He has spent 30 years in senior banking management, and has experience with collections, banking center administration and retail and mortgage lending. Joe’s hobbies include, fishing and coaching girls’ softball.

Mark Webb
Mark Webb

Officer / Business Development

Mark, a native of West Virginia, graduated from Oak Hill High School and went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from West Virginia University. He now resides in Wheelersburg Ohio, and has worked in the tri-state area for over 20 years. Mark brings over 21 years of banking experience and has managed banking centers in both Kentucky and West Virginia. He has spent the last eight years focusing on business development in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky. In his free time, Mark enjoys exercising, spending time outdoors, and watching different types of genres of movies.

Tyler Crum
Tyler Crum

Officer / Business Development

A native of Johnson County, Kentucky, Tyler graduated from Johnson Central High School and went on to attend Big Sandy Community and Technical College. In 2014-2015, Tyler completed the Kentucky Bankers Association General Banking School as well as the Kentucky Bankers Association Commercial Banking School. In 2018, Tyler went on to complete the American Bankers Association Advanced Commercial Lending School at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.  Tyler has been a member of the Paintsville Kiwanis Club since 2013, serving two terms as club President and a member of the board. Tyler has completed many leadership programs including Leadership Johnson County, Leadership Southeast Kentucky, the KBA Emerging Leaders program, and the Patton Leadership Institute Class of 2019. Tyler joined the First State Bank team in 2021 as a Business Development Officer, bringing nearly ten years of commercial banking experience to his role. In his free time, Tyler enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and is also a car enthusiast. Tyler and his wife, Morgan, just welcomed their first son (Mark) into the world in April 2021.

Billie Rae Henry
Billie Rae Henry

Officer / Regional Retail Manager

Originally from Bethel, Ohio and a graduate from Bethel Tate High School, Billie Rae has been a resident of Mt. Orab for the last 20 years.  Billie Rae joined the FSB team in 2015 as Head Customer Service Representative in Mt. Orab and brought several years of banking experience to her role. In 2016, she was named Office Manager in Mt. Orab and in 2018, she was named Banking Center Manager in Mt. Orab. In her current role as Regional Retail Manager, she leads the Central Market banking centers which include: Fayetteville, Georgetown, Manchester, Mt. Orab, Ripley, St. Bernard and West Union. She is also responsible for loan and deposit growth for the region.

Billie Rae enjoys being involved with the community and has coached Western Brown Pee Wee Cheerleading and has volunteered with Junior Achievement and United Way.  She has also served as a mentor at the Mt. Orab Middle School. In her free time, Billie Rae is very involved with her children’s activities, including her daughter’s cheer competitions, and she also enjoys attending fitness classes and spending time outdoors and with her family.

Diana Setty
Diana Setty

Assistant Vice President / Regional Retail Manager

A graduate of Peebles High School, Diana went on to attend Southern State Community College and American Intercontinental University. In 2006, she joined the team at First State Bank. Over the years, she has worked at the company in a variety of roles including customers service, loan support, employee training and banking center management. In her current role as Regional Retail Manager, she leads the Northern Market banking centers which include: Hillsboro, Peebles, Seaman, Washington Court House, Wilmington and Winchester. She is also responsible for loan and deposit growth for the region.

Diana serves on multiple boards including, Cherry Ridge Therapeutic Learning Program, Grow! Highland County, Festival of the Bells, and the Highland County Chamber of Commerce. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, running, hiking and outdoor activities.  

James Ayers
James Ayers

Assistant Vice President / Regional Retail Manager

A graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, as well as the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin,  James also earned a certificate in Bank Executive Leadership from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. James brings more than 20 years of banking experience and over the years, he has overseen Credit Administration, Enterprise Wide Risk Management, Finance, Fair Lending, Deposit Compliance, Commercial Lending and Security. He will join the First State Bank team as a Regional Retail and Relationship Manager for the Kentucky market. 

A current resident of Inez, Kentucky, James will also be receiving his MBA from the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville. He is a member of the Kentucky Bankers Association Governmental Affairs Committee, a board member of One East Kentucky, and a board member of the Highlands Foundation.  In 2017/2018, James was recognized as an emerging leader by the Kentucky Bankers Association. In his free time, James enjoys spending time with his wife Keli, learning about history, reading, and traveling. 

Amy Howard

Assistant Vice President / Retail Market Lender

A graduate of North Adams High School, Amy joined the team at First State Bank in 1988. Over the years, she has gained experience working in many different capacities at the bank. In 2009, she was named Banking Center Manager of the Seaman location and in 2016 she was named West Union Banking Center Manager. In 2018, she was named Retail Market Lender, where she will focus on West Union and Manchester in Adams County. In her free time, Amy enjoys helping her daughter coach junior high cheerleading and spending time with her family.

Bryan Smith
Bryan Smith

Officer / Mortgage Loan Originator

A lifelong resident of Highland County, Bryan is a graduate of Whiteoak High School. He went on to Southern State to earn an Associates’ degree in applied business with a concentration in real estate. Bryan brings several years of lending and banking experience to his role and has spent much of his career working and building relationships in Highland and Clinton County. During his free time, Bryan enjoys spending time with his wife, Beth, and two sons. His hobbies include being outdoors, boating and camping with friends and family.

Mark Richards

Assistant Vice President / Retail Market Lender

After graduating from Buckeye Valley High School in Delaware, Ohio, Mark spent five years serving in the United States Navy. He started his career in banking in 1979 and brings more than 30 years of experience to his position. In 2005, Mark attended the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2014, Mark was named the Banking Center Manager in Washington Court House and in 2018, he was named the Retail Market Lender in Fayette County. In addition to his role at FSB, Mark also is active in many civic organizations in the community. In his spare time, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, watching his daughters in track and tennis and playing golf.

Nick Brown

Assistant Vice President / Retail Market Lender

After attending North Adams High School, Nick went on graduate from Franklin University with a degree in Business Administration. Over the years, Nick has worked in many different capacities of banking; including customer service, collection, loan origination, compliance and management. He joined the First State Bank team in 2013 as the compliance manager and in 2018 was named Retail Market Lender, in Brown County with a focus on the Mt. Orab area. In his free time, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and family and watching his children in various sporting events such as wrestling, cheerleading, softball, and football . Nick also volunteers as a softball coach and serves on the youth softball board in Mt. Orab.

Ryan Unger
Ryan Unger

Assistant Vice President / Retail Market Lender

Born and raised in Winchester, Ohio, Ryan is a graduate of North Adams High School. He went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Southern State Community College. He joined the FSB team in 2010 as a customer service representative at the Peebles banking center. In 2011, he transferred to the Georgetown location and in 2016 he was named Office Manager. In 2017, Ryan was named Banking Center Manager of Georgetown. In 2020, he was named Retail Market Lender, where his focus will be in Georgetown and Ripley.

Ryan is involved in the community and is the coach of the Boys Basketball team at North Adams Jr. High School and volunteers as a student mentor at Eastern Middle School and Georgetown Schools.  In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Hannah and daughter Kynnady, coaching, Cincinnati Reds games, going out to eat with friends, collecting sports memorabilia and watching movies/TV series.

Inez Banking Center Manager

A lifelong resident of Lovely, Kentucky Amy graduated from Sheldon Clark High School. She went on to obtain her Bachelors in Business Administration from Alice Lloyd College. She is also a graduate of the Kentucky Bankers Association General Banking School. Amy has more than a decade of banking experience and started her banking career as an intern working in bookkeeping and later branching out into marketing, community relations, and online banking.

Ashlee Mattingly
Ashlee Mattingly

Mt. Orab Banking Center Manager

A graduate of North Adams High School, Ashlee started her career with First State Bank in 2015 part-time as a Customer Service Representative in West Union. In 2016, she was named Floating Customer Service Representative and Trainer. In 2017, she transferred to Lead Customer Service Representative in Peebles. In 2019, Ashlee was promoted to Banking Center Manager. During her free time, Ashlee likes spending time with her family, friends, and dog Zeus. She also enjoys traveling and reading.

Austin Doss
Austin Doss

Fayetteville Banking Center Manager

A graduate of Eastern High School, Austin started his career with First State Bank in 2018 part-time as a Customer Service Representative in Hillsboro and later took on a full-time role. In 2019, he was named Lead Customer Service Representative in Fayetteville. In 2021, Austin was promoted to the Fayetteville Banking Center Manager. Washington Court House Banking Center Manager

A native of Washington Court House, Breann graduated from Washington Court House High School. She started her banking career in 2016 and has worked in many different capacities of banking; including customer service, relationship management and branch management. Breann joined the First State Bank team in 2022 as Banking Center Manager in Washington Court House. In this role, she oversees the operations of the banking center and focuses on loan and deposit growth in Fayette County and the surrounding area.

In her free time, Breann enjoys spending time with her younger sisters and dogs and exercising. Breann is active in her community and spends time coaching softball and volunteering at her sisters’ school events.

A graduate of Hillsboro High School, Cameron went on to attend Wilmington College to obtain his Bachelors in Business Administration. He currently resides in Wilmington with his wife and three children. Cameron brings over 16 years of banking management experience to his role. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, attending his children’s sporting events, golfing, fishing and watching his favorite sports teams.

Digital Banking Manager / Floating Banking Center Manager

Originally from Fayetteville, Casey now resides in Lynchburg. He graduated from Fayetteville High School, and went on to attend The Art Institute of Cincinnati.  Casey brings 20 years of experience in operations, human resources, and management to his role. In 2018, he joined the First State Bank team as Banking Center Manager/Developer where he was responsible for management as well as developing customer service focused initiatives. In 2022, Casey was promoted to Digital Banking Manager/Floating Banking Center Manager where he will be responsible for all components of the digital banking experience.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their four daughters. His hobbies include hunting and fishing.

A native of Warfield, Kentucky, Debbie graduated from Sheldon Clark High School. She started in 2019 as a Customer Service Representative and in 2020 was promoted to Lead Customer Service Representative. In 2021, Debbie was named Banking Center Manager of the Warfield location. In this role, she oversees the operations of the banking center and focuses on loan and deposit growth in Warfield and the surrounding area. In her free time, Debbie enjoys bowling.

Georgetown Banking Center Manager

A graduate of Western Brown High School, Diane started her career at First State Bank in 2014 as a part time Customer Service Representative, and not long after became a full time Customer Service Representative in Georgetown. In 2017, she was promoted to the Lead Customer Service Representative in Georgetown. In 2019, she was promoted to Banking Center Manager. In her free time, Diane enjoys spending time with her family, watching her sons sporting events, and being outdoors.

Louisa Banking Center Manager

A resident Fort Gay WV, Doris graduated from Fort Gay High School. She continued her banking education at Ashland Community Technical College. Doris brings nearly 40 years of banking experience to her role and over the years she has worked as a customer service representative, BSA Officer, Loan Officer, Branch Manager, and Senior Vice President. Doris joins the First State Bank team as the Louisa Banking Center Manager.

Doris is active in her church as well as the Louisa Rotary Club. She enjoys spending time with her two children and six grandchildren. Her hobbies include working in her flower garden, watching her grandchildren, and attending all of their activities.

Winchester Banking Center Manager

Originally from Winchester, Erica is a graduate of North Adams High School and went on to attend Wilmington College where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts. Erica started her career with First State Bank in 2019 and brings several years of banking experience to her role. Over the years, she has worked at the company in a variety of positions including customer service, loan support, and compliance. In 2023, she was promoted to Banking Center Manager in Winchester.

Erica currently resides in Seaman and is a member of the Seaman Lions Club and is involved in Walk MS, Adams County. In her free time, Erica enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.

Peebles Banking Center Manager

A lifelong resident of Adams County, Jalen graduated from Manchester High School and went on to attend Wilmington College where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Jalen started his career in banking with First State Bank in 2018 and has held positions as Customer Service Representative, Card Specialist, and Consumer Loan Specialist. In 2023, he was promoted to Banking Center Manager in Peebles. In his free time, Jalen enjoys golfing, hunting, and keeping up with his favorite sports teams.

Pam Douglas

Manchester Banking Center Manager

After graduating from Manchester High School, Pam went on to attend the Ohio Banker Association, Ohio School of Consumer Credit. Pam brings more than 30 years of banking experience to her role. Pam spent 10 years at Civic Savings Banking before joining the team at First State Bank in 1991. Over the years, Pam acted as a loan officer before becoming the Banking Center Manager in Winchester, and later in West Union. In 2008, she moved into her current role in Manchester.

In her free time, Pam enjoys spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's ballgames and cheerleading competitions. She also loves traveling, reading and shopping.

Ripley Banking Center Manager

Originally from Ripley, Paula is a graduate of Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington High School and went on to attend Maysville Community College.  Paula brings several years of banking experience to her role. She started as a Customer Service Representative at the Ripley Banking Center and then was promoted to the Head Customer Service Representative and in 2015 she was named Office Manager. In 2018, she was named Banking Center Manager of the Ripley Banking Center. One of her favorite thing about her position is that she can work in her hometown and interact with all of the customers that she has come to know very well.

Paula is involved in the community and is a member of the Maysville Rotary Club and a mentor at the RULH Middle School through the Brown County Community Connectors Project. She also helps as scorekeeper for both of her children’s baseball teams. In her free time, Paula enjoys playing with her children and dogs, attending fitness classes with friends, cooking, reading, hiking, gardening and watching her children playing sports.

A graduate of Hillsboro High School, Tara went on to obtain her bachelors in fine arts from Shawnee State University. Tara brings several years of banking and lending experience to her role at First State Bank and is excited to serve customers in Highland County. Her hobbies include coaching her children’s sports teams, as well as playing and watching sports and spending time with her husband and two children. Tara serves on the Hillsboro Festival of the Bells board, and is the treasurer for the Liberty Park little league in Hillsboro.

A lifelong resident of Adams County, Vanessa graduated from Manchester High School and went on to attend Southern State Community College.She joined the team at First State Bank in 2012 as a Customer Service Representative in West Union. In 2014, she was promoted to Consumer Loan Processor and in 2016 she decided to join the mortgage side of banking and became a Mortgage Loan Processor. In 2017, Vanessa was named Banking Center Coordinator, where she will be responsible for acting as the training and customer service liaison across all of the First State Banking Centers. In 2018, she was named Banking Center Manager/Developer, where she was  responsible for management as well as developing customer service focused initiatives. Later this same year, Vanessa was named Banking Center Manager of the West Union location. In her free time, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors and watching her son race motocross.

A graduate of West Union High School, Whittnie started her career at First State Bank in 2004. Over the years, she has worked as a Call Center Representative and as a Customer Service Representative at multiple banking center locations. In 2015, she was promoted to Office Manager of the Seaman Banking Center and then in 2016 became the Office Manager of the West Union Banking Center. In 2017, she was named the Banking Center Manager of Seaman. In her free time, Whittnie enjoys spending time with her husband and young son and her family and friends.
